MSW Intern

Lisette is a Master of Social Work student at Rutgers University School of Social Work with a specialization in interpersonal violence and trauma. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hunter College of the City University of New York. In her prior internships, Lisette has worked with individuals impacted by generational patterns of domestic violence, child maltreatment, substance use, co-occurring mental health concerns, and historical and racial trauma.

Lisette cares deeply about addressing the mental and emotional harm from intergenerational trauma for marginalized individuals. She combines evidence-based practices with holistic interventions to foster self-compassion and empowerment. Using a culturally responsive, person-centered approach, she creates a safe space where clients can begin to explore and heal from inherited patterns that no longer serve them. Lisette helps people reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom, reclaim their narratives, and build lasting change. Through this collaborative work, clients cultivate resilience, deepen self-awareness, and develop a more authentic sense of self.
